On behalf of the Architectural Institute of Korea (AIK) and the Local Organizing Committee of International Association for People-Environment Studies (IAPS) International Network Symposium 2011, I would like to cordially invite you as a convener of proposed symposium. Proposed symposia are important components of the IAPS International Symposium 2011.

Greetings from Daegu, Korea!
On behalf of the Architectural Institute of Korea (AIK) and the Local Organizing Committee of International Association for People-Environment Studies (IAPS) International Network Symposium 2011, I would like to cordially invite you as a convener of proposed symposium. Proposed symposia are important components of the IAPS International Symposium 2011.
IAPS International Network Symposium 2011 will be held in Daegu, Korea, from October 10th to 14th, 2011, organized by Housing & Culture and Space in the Built Environment (CSBE) networks of IAPS, with the projected focus being, "Continuity and Change of Built Environment - Housing, Culture and Space across Lifespans".
Relating to organizing proposed symposia, please notice the role of a convener(s).
The Conveners of proposed symposium are responsible for:
• Select a topic of interest to themselves and to symposium delegates.
• Distribute a call for papers for the invited symposium.
• Select at least 3~4 Speakers and Discussant(s) by him(her)self for organizing proposed symposium. For example, 3~4 speakers and 1~2 discussant(s).
• Check and review that the papers are suitable for the symposium.
• Act as the chairs of his(her) own symposium.
Also proposed symposia will be organized as follows:
• Proposal for each proposed symposium including a subtopic and brief its abstract by convener(s) and abstracts by speakers: March 7, 2011
• Review the selected abstracts of speakers by the steering committee
• Submission of full papers to IAPS 2011 website: May 29, 2011
• Early registration for speakers: August 19, 2011
• Including papers of proposed symposium in the Abstract/Proceeding of IAPS International Network Symposium 2011.
Lastly, Potential conveners can organize each their own session for proposed symposium as well as jointed session with other potential conveners, which means that there would be 1 convener or 2~3 conveners in each session for proposed symposium.
We would very appreciate it if you accept our invitation and make a proposal for the proposed symposia at IAPS 2011.
